Complicated Analysis

Now we're into the tough stuff. Fortunately to us tough is easy, tricky is fun and impossible is a challenge.

We have experience across multiple toolsets (SAS, SPSS, Excel, Access, MySQL, etc...) and have both the academic and industry knowledge to take the stats and maths from the pages of the textbook and turn it into an integrated part of your business.

Problem 1 - Simon heads up the analytic function for a large financial services company. He has pressure from above to create a customer segmentation that can be turned into targeted mailings for their loans product. The team are SAS users, but they are all tied up on other projects, and this needs to be done yesterday...

Solution 1 - Half a day spent with one of Simon's team allows us to really understand the customer data. 1 week later (with a few calls in between to clarify some of the nuances of the data) a SAS script is delivered which identifies the customers as belonging to 1 of 6 core segments. Pen portraits of the segments are also delivered to help the marketing department to really understand the profile of these segments. Now all of Simon's loans mailings have a bespoke creative which is relevant to the segment the customer belongs to. Simon is happy. We feel proud when we receive one of these mailings in the post, and put it in a little frame on the wall!

Problem 2 - A bug is in the air! Denise's resident stats expert Nick is unwell. Unfortunately, that doesn't stop the logistic propensity model for the cold mailing campaign needing to be finished by the end of next week.

Solution 2 - Denise's MI manager is able to make the marketing database available to us, and fortunately has a detailed data dictionary to help us understand the data. Using SAS/STAT procedures we're able to deliver code that will not only append propensity model scores onto their marketing database, but also re-validate the model over time to flag when it's time to re-train the model.
